Things I'm grateful for the past week | #1
I'm trying to challenge myself with something new, want to know what it is? ✨
Hi awesome souls,
First, let me greet you Happy Lunar New Year! 🎆
Now, here’s a new challenge for myself and something that I’ve been thinking of for so long. Why not revive something from my blog before but improve it?
Years back, I started a blog series years back called Favorite Friday or Friday Favorites. It’s that long that I can’t even remember the exact name of the series. 🤣 In that series, I would share one favorite that piqued my interest, or I find valuable that may be interesting to whoever reaches my blog.
Fast-forward to now, I’m revamping that and transforming it to a grateful list. I’ll start a list of the things that made me so grateful or highlights about the previous week.
So, I’ll start with:
My aunt’s birthday yesterday. I’ve always been grateful to her because she’s one of the people who raised me and taught me things that still help me up to this age. She’s what I refer to as my godmother for all seasons. 🎂
Lunar New Year holiday. This holiday gave me around additional days to rest, recharge, and find something intriguing that my brain would like. I struggled for a while since there was an internet outage in our area last Friday, so I reverted to my (adult) coloring books, reading, and watching Mythbusters (offline).
Achieved a milestone for my blog. Google Search Console sent me a notification that my blog reached around 3-4K searches on the search engine. As a digital marketer, that made me proud. Being able to find the silver lining between work and personal life is so empowering.
Hell’s Kitchen Season 22. Ever since I started watching Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell on YouTube, I tried Hell’s Kitchen and got hooked! I love how these talented chefs compete and of course, how Chef Gordon Ramsay pushes them to be the best versions of themselves.
Dakila’s check-up. Ever since he got diagnosed with anaplasmosis, I’ve always been visited by anxiety. I started to feel better when most of his CBC results improved. With his next check-up, I’m hoping that his platelets normalized already.
Notion. As someone with ADHD, finding the right tool to help you function well is challenging. From experience, I’ve always been on the hunt for a tool that integrates well with most of the tools that I use both for work and personal life. I’ve used Asana as my planner (which I also use for work), Google Calendar, OneNote. However, things changed when I went back to using Notion. Why? I got bored with OneNote, especially with its limitations on customizing and integrations. Now, I’ve fully migrated to Notion, and it’s my planner, notebook, and lists of all things to remind myself, especially about adulting stuff.
Mythbusters. I know I’m late to the party since I started watching this lately. It’s an interesting show and I feel like a child again watching Bill Nye the Science Guy. I’m entertained and curious at the same time.
Substack. I know I already have a blog/website, but this place is a haven for me. Here, I get to share opinions or thoughts without the worry of being judged.
Ko-fi. This space is what I use to post the items that I sell, and also commissions. It’s a way for me to earn also aside from working.
Sleep. The previous weeks were a struggle for me, especially I wasn’t able to get my meds that help me sleep. I had my psych check-up earlier and was happy to get my new prescription and secure my meds for the coming weeks.
I guess that’s it.
What about you? What have you been grateful for the past week? 💖
