What’s up folks?
It’s been a short while since I wrote to you.
Quixotic: A Book of Poetry
This personal project took more than a decade to complete, starting from writing poems, to compiling them, and lay outing into the book. I included the poems that I made from high school, college, and up to now.
So, you’ll read the differences in how I write through the years.
Short backstory
I wasn’t confident with my poems. I felt insecure because I knew that there are other aspiring poets and writers who do better than me. So, I kept the poems on my OneNote.
Then, my hype man encouraged me to compile the poems, and he did the designing, compiling, and even uploading the manuscript to Amazon.
Fun fact: He’s the more meticulous one when it comes to design and other things.
Back to the present, you can buy a copy for your Kindle, paperback, or hardbound through Amazon.
P.S. Please don’t hesitate to leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. 💖
On other news, what’s keeping me busy these days?
I'm still learning and transitioning into my new role in the company.
I’m studying more about SEO, experimenting with strategies through my blog. Likewise, I’ve been combining the power of my brain and my intern to create thought-provoking content.
I applied for scholarships (or financial aid) for the last two courses for my digital marketing certification on Coursera. I’ve been tempted to save up for the subscription, but I still feel that it’s a huge amount that may be used to pay bills and other adulting things.
Unfiltered thoughts 🤔
I’m irked with how the younger generation act in public places. I’ve been noticing that they’re not mindful of their surroundings and act as if they own the place. In a fast food chain near us, I saw a group of Gen Z kids leave the table without even arranging the utensils and plates. It’s as if they’re in a fine-dining restaurant.
Why do some people throw trash in plant boxes? Like, it’s obvious that there are plants in there, yet they still throw cigarette butts, food packaging trash, and bottles there. How tedious is it to carry those until you reach the nearest trash can?
I really dislike people cutting in lines.
Small wins 💪🏽
I was able to create a pitch deck for automation at work, create SEO recommendations, introduce a new concept at work called IDS sessions. IDS means issues, discuss, solve. It has been helping us overcome challenges and issues.
I finally posted something about my book, which really felt uncomfortable to me at first because I don’t really share that much anymore.
We are cooking something for a new podcast episode!
I found the energy to listen to podcasts again. I took a break from listening to podcasts, and just focused on Lo-Fi music to help me during my focus sessions.
New blog posts:
Anyway, that’s it for now. I’ll see you in the future newsletters and blog posts.
Love and light,
Maria 🧿
